By now I am certain you have seen or heard of our troubles with #9 fairway at the Members Club. Every season the bermuda grass returns from dormancy with a new surprise. Most years, longer days and temperature increase will stimulate growth. Some years, increased fertilization and a light verticutting are necessary. And in severe cases complete winterkill has occurred and we must resod. The last being the case this year on #9 fairway at the Members Club. Here is a link describing the tribulations of spring transition with bermudagrass.
This past week we completed the sod project on the ninth fairway. Here are some pictures of the staff hard at work and the finished product.
Please try to obey the traffic signs in this area. As we attempt to mature the turf, limited vehicle traffic is crucial. This area should be knitted in and ready for play within one week. We thank the membership for their patience with this issue.
