Welcome back Spring...

      The winter is finally over and the mild weather conditions have finally allowed us to start pushing the greens. This week we made our first topdressing application of the 2014 season. However, you may have noticed that this wasn't the typical brown sand that we normally use. The sand we use for our first topdressing is actually black. The darker tint helps to absorb heat at the surface. This promotes a faster green up and a slightly earlier start to the growing season. Below are some pictures of the sand and how it looks when applied to the turf.
