Opening Day—Irwin Front New Greens—August 1, 2014

Our final week on the Irwin front went well in preparation for opening, Friday, August 1st. There were a lot of items (mostly details) still on the list at the beginning of the week. The crew fired on all cylinders and did a great job knocking them out!

Last Week 7/28/14 through 8/1/14

·        Stumps were cut and removed throughout the entire MC course.

·        Weak areas of turf were stripped and sodded.

·        Deep-tined the Cate greens, fertilized, then topdressed with sand.

·        Prepped and fumigated the Irwin back greens.

·        Rolled Irwin front and Cate greens.

·        Successfully installed new frequency modules in all the irrigation satellite controllers, in conjunction with a new repeater stationed at the clubhouse.

·        Applied Curfew, a soil fumigant to control nematodes, on Irwin #7&#9 and Cate #9.

·        Re-painted all tee markers.

·        Installed irrigation to help alleviate wet areas around greens

Next Week 8/4/14 through 8/8/14

·        Reserve Club will be closed Tuesday through Thursday to verticut fairways and tees. While closed, we will also needle-tine the greens and fertilize the entire course.

·        Members Club will remove the fumigation tarps from the Irwin back greens and prepare for sprigs on Thursday.

·        Founders Club is continuously fertilizing areas left thin from overseeding last year.

·        Players Club is deck mowing and spraying growth along tree lines.
